Mentor Match

Glenpool Mentor Match was created in 2013 to match school and community leaders with Glenpool Public School Students. Future mentors go through a screening process and are then matched with a student. Together, they spend 30 minutes each week doing crafts, homework, etc.

Beginning with only nine mentors, we have steadily grown over the years due Glenpool Public Schools Administration and faculty. Mr. Olansen, the GPS Superintendent, along with many school teachers, administrators, and community leaders have volunteered to mentor students.

Glenpool Mentor Match operates under our local Glenpool Foundation and has gained state-wide support through the Boren Mentoring Initiative. Glenpool Founder and Administrator, Liz White, was recently asked to speak about the program at the 2015 Annual Trustee Meeting for The Oklahoma Foundation for Academic Excellence. Glenpool Mentor Match was also selected to present at the 2015 Fall Forum at The University of Oklahoma with the hopes of encouraging other foundations to begin mentoring programs.
