Art

The Art Department of Glenpool High School is headed by art instructor Gayla Mitchell. This discipline is offered to all students in grades 9 through 12. Classes offered are Art 1, Pre-AP/Art 2 and Advanced Placement Studio Art (Art 3 and 4). Many of our students turn their ability in art into scholarships at major universities and art institutes. The Art Department is dedicated to the promotion of creative thinking, problem solving and advancing technical skill. Students are introduced to a broad scope of art production, aesthetics, criticism, history, media and careers.

Many art students participate in the National Art Honor Society program. This organization is dedicated to serve our school and community through art  enrichment projects. NAHS is built on the four attributes of character, scholarship, leadership and service.

Artists are constantly improving, learning, and growing. Created by National Art Honor Society students, this mural reveals the idea that the arts are a never ending journey without a final destination. It is on display at the entrance of the Fine Arts Building.
