Proficiency Testing

Proficiency Based Promotion (PBP) is a process which awards credit for students’ knowledge in the core curriculum areas, including reading, language arts, math, science, social studies and foreign languages, through an assessment process. It is available to students in grades 1-12.

The opportunity for proficiency based testing is scheduled two times a year. The test will be administered by the building administrator and/or designee. Tests will be given after the close of the current school year, and again after the opening of the ensuing school year.

Parents and students interested in pursuing testing will make application for testing online. The link to the application can be accessed here.

Specific dates for this year's application window are as follows:

Application Window #1: May 5-9; Testing Window #1: May 27-29

Application Window #2: August 4-8; Testing Window #2: Aug. 14-15 & 18.

Proficiency Based Promotion requires a minimum score of 90%. Students demonstrating proficiency will have the opportunity to advance to the next level of study. Students not demonstrating proficiency will be allowed to apply for testing again during the next assessment period.
