School WILL be in session today. Buses will run normal routes. Maintenance is clearing sidewalks. See you soon.

Warrior Community,
The Lower Elementary has been cleared for occupancy. Oklahoma Natural Gas was called on site and tested the entire natural gas system to ensure it was safe. They tested for carbon monoxide and all tests were negative.
We appreciate the cooperation of the community and for our outstanding teacher and staff for making this as smooth as possible.
Student and staff safety will always be our top priority. I hope you enjoy the long weekend
Respectfully,
Curtis Layton
Superintendent of Schools

No classes on Monday, January 20, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Our own Rachel Welch has received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)! We're so proud of her, and it's fantastic that she's getting national recognition. The PAEMST is the highest recognition a K-12 science, technology, engineering, or mathematics teacher may receive for outstanding teaching in the US. She has dramatically impacted her students, this district, and every educator she has worked with.
Congratulations Rachel Welch!

Glenpool Schools will be on a Distance Learning Day on Friday, Jan 10. All buildings will be closed. Students need to check with teachers for assignments. Be safe.

Parents,
We are monitoring some information on social media and wanted to put out a clarification. All buses will be running their regularly scheduled routes and pickup times will remain on the same schedule. Parents are welcome to pick their children up early.

Big thank you to our Friend of Education for January, Bounce Kingdom 918! We appreciate your support of our schools and our community!

Congratulations to our Elementary Teacher of the Month, LeAnn Click!

Congratulations to Stacey Thomas, our Secondary Employee of the Month!

Congratulations to Patti McGee, our January Support Employee of the Month

Parents of students in extended day:
With the increase in snowfall and the worsening of road conditions, we are asking parents to pick students up as early as possible from extended day. Our goal is to try to get as many of our employees on the road home by 5:00.

This year Upper Elementary participated in the angel adoption with BancFirst. Student Council gathered and decided to reach out to staff members about adopting angels from the Glenwood Retirement Center. The Upper Elementary picked 40 angels from the tree that is located at BancFirst!
Teachers and faculty adopted these angels and fulfilled their wish lists with the help from their own families and/or their classroom families.
Thank you to staff and the community for helping in making 40 residents of our local retirement center feel extra special this holiday season!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones!
