The future of STEM is bright at Glenpool Intermediate! Thanks to the PLTW expansion grant, in partnership with Ardagh Group, we're empowering our students with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed. This grant was used to fund new technology and curriculum, allowing us to expand our STEM program and inspire the next generation of innovators. #STEMimpact #PLTW #Ardagh #GlenpoolEducation

Parents and Community Members,
With arctic weather and a 100% chance of precipitation forecasted for tomorrow, the district has decided to move to distance learning for Tuesday, Feb 18, 2025.
This will be an asynchronous learning day, and students will be given assignments to complete by their teachers. Please ensure that students are working on assignments and don't get behind. Teachers will be available through Google Classroom and Gmail, so if your students need help, they only need to reach out via email. Our goal is to give parents as much notice as possible. We will be making day-to-day decisions on future days.
Respectfully,
Curtis Layton
Our students celebrated a Day of Kindness today and practiced showing kindness, caring, and love to others on this special day. We celebrated each other, sent Valentines cards to our local nursing home and more! What a special day!!

Some buses may run about 5 minutes late today due to ice on the bus safety stop signs. Thank you for being patient. They will run their regular routes today.

Dear Community Members,
With all the illnesses this season, we wanted to share some guidelines for infection prevention. The district is also disinfecting buildings to help with the spread.

Happy National School Counselor's Week to our very own Mrs. Linda Stevenson. She does an excellent job with students who need an extra adult to lean on. Her guidance classes are a hit with everyone, and we are proud to have her as our GLE counselor.

The entire building and each unit were checked for a gas leak, and no natural gas was detected. Technicians have determined that the exhaust and fresh air intake system was not functioning as designed, creating the odor. The district is taking steps to remedy the situation, and the Lower Elementary has been cleared for occupancy. We understand the inconvenience and concern this causes, and we appreciate the patience of our parents.

UPDATE #2 re: Lower Elementary Evacuation: The Lower Elementary building was evacuated this morning because it was reported to maintenance that there was a smell of natural gas. Maintenance could not rule out the possibility with certainty when they inspected the building. In an abundance of caution, the decision was made to evacuate the building. So far, Glenpool Fire and ONG have inspected the inside of the building using natural gas detection devices. There was no natural gas detection inside the building, so children were never exposed. At this time, ONG is running tests on the meter, and I will update you as we get more information. -Supt. Layton
